In December of 2001, Harold Collett and Leroy Pramann
were at the Des Moines Show, and had entered their old frill
breed in the Rare Breed Club meet. There were quite a few
interested fanciers in Des Moines; several expressed
interest in getting a club started. To help get this going,
Harold Collett collected names and put together a directory,
which was sent to every one interested. As the year
progressed additional names were received and lost due to a
lighting strike.
At the Louisville Young Bird Show of 2002, the group of six
breeders got together to discuss the possibility of hosting
their own show next year. They decided to have a meet,
sponsored by themselves and should not be joined with the
Rare Breeds Club. The reason for the club was to be able to
show this type of breed as the rest of the breeds show and
not be judged as a European Style. Donald Averbeck spoke
with a member of the Louisville Club about showing and was
told that in order to show as a club they needed to provide
a membership list, and who was President, Vice President,
and Secretary/Treasurer. In addition they needed a judge and
to take care of our own awards with a deadline of June 1,
2003. Old Fashion Frills Club was suggested as the name of
the new club.
During 2003 the first officers were Harold Collett as
President; Kevin Scott as Vice-President; and Donald
Averbeck as Secretary/Treasurer and a constitution and
standard were created. After some discussion the name of the
club was changed to the National Classic Old Frill Club and
the name of the breed was called Classic Old Frill. A yahoo
group page was shortly created by Harold Collett to help
attract new members and help those interested breeders
communicate among each others.
During 2004, a committee was created to work on the new
standard and the drawing. It was decided that starting in
2005 a bi-monthly bulletin would be mailed out with Harold
Collett and his wife putting these together. An election was
planned for the first part of the year with nominations
being accepted by Bonita Johnson the election Commissioner.
The Results were President Harold Collett,
Secretary/Treasurer Donald Averbeck, East Vice President Lew
Wescott; West Vice President Ron Costa; North Director
Richard Stroszka; East Director Bill Jacox; Central Director
Rick Tucker; & West Director David Walton.
During 2006, another election was held with the results
being President Lew Wescott, Secretary/Treasurer Donald
Averbeck, East Vice President Ed Novak; West Vice President
Ron Costa; North Director Richard Stroszka; East Director
Bill Jacox; Central Director Dick Bonnell; & West Director
Dave Mott and took office the first of 2007. During the end
of 2007 and through out 2008 Kathy Wescott served as Interim
President. During this time the club created several new
programs which consist of the Hall of Fame, Master Judge and
Master Breeder. Jerry Lorenz of WI was appointed as Points
Coordinator. In addition, the club also began a youth
program to assist the youth of the club. Kathy Wescott
served as the Adult Advisor along with Erin Hage as the
Youth Member in charge. The current standard drawing was
approved by the standard committee during 2008 Diana Jacky
did the artwork.
During 2008 another election was held with the results being

Vice President Saso Petkovski; West Vice President Harold
Collett; Central Director James Osche; Easter Director Larry
Losee; North Director Richard Stroszka; and West Director
