Master Breeder Program
Master Breeder Purpose: The member seeking to be certified by the National Classic Old Frill Club (NCOF) as a “Master Breeder” of the Classic Old Frill pigeon must meet certain specific qualifications. It is the intent of this club to grant this high honor to individuals who are exceptional breeders of the Classic Old Frill.
1. The applicant must be a member in good standing of the NCOF for a period of not less than 5 years prior to application and have shown Classic Old Frills for at least 5 years.
2. The title “Master Breeder” is open to all senior members who accumulate 1,000 points in NCOF approved meets.
» Accumulated points must include 5 Champions or Reserve Champions in NCOF approved meets with 3 of these wins at the
National level. National level shows include the NPA National show and the National Young Bird Show (NYBS).
3. Master Breeder (MB) Points will be awarded only to Classic Old Frills bred and shown by the Master Breeder applicant.
» The NCOF Points Coordinator will be responsible for tracking qualified points
» Show reports will be required to verify number of birds in each class and total birds shown.
» Only birds with proper size bands (9) will be eligible to receive MB points.
» No splint band birds will be eligible for MB points.
» Only NCOF approved meets will be eligible for MB points.
» Eligible meets must have 3 exhibitors to qualify for MB points.
» Absentee birds will not count towards MB Points.
4. Point System as follows:
» Champion will receive ………………1 point for each bird beat in show
» 1st Reserve will receive……………...1 point for each bird beat in show
» 2nd Reserve will receive……………..1 point for each bird beat in show
» 3rd Reserve will receive……………...1 point for each bird beat in show
» Best color will receive ……………....1 point for each bird beat in class (max 10 pt)
Each bird can only receive one set of points per show
» Example: If a bird wins Best of Color and continues on to win Champion, only the Champion Points will be awarded.
5. Accumulation of points will begin with the 2003 NYBS which was the first official NCOF meet.
6. Upon completion of the accumulated points, the applicant shall submit copies of all records to the Club Secretary. The Secretary will forward all information to the President, Eastern Vice President and Western Vice President. All four officers will verify the report. If requirements are met Master Breeder certification will be awarded.
Show Points
And how they are tabulated.
We had to establish a break down of numbers in the show to award placing Master Breeder points.
Level 1 – up to 15 birds – Champion awarded points
Level 2 – 16 to 25 birds – Champion & Reserve Champion awarded points
Level 3 – 26 to 55 birds – Champ, Res, & 2nd Res awarded points
Level 4 – 56 to 75 birds – Champ, Res, 2nd Res & 3rd Res awarded points
Level 5 – 76 and up – Champ, Res, 2nd Res, 3rd Res & 4th Res awarded points
Points are awarded one point for every bird the winner beats.
Example:
50 birds in show:
The Champion gets 49 points.
Reserve Champion gets 48 points.
2nd Reserve Champion gets 47 points.
3rd Reserve Champion gets 0 points
It is perfectly fine to select a 3rd, 4th and 5th placing but only the top 3 places will receive Master
Breeder points in this show with 50 birds entered.
Color Class Points:
8 birds in the color class, color class winner gets 7 points, a point for every bird beaten.
A maximum of 10 points can be awarded to a color class winner.
A bird cannot be awarded color class and Champion/Reserve Champion points.
Only the Champion/Reserve points will be awarded.
If a breeder sells a bird and the buyer shows the bird the points go to the breeder.
