How to fill out a pigeon show entry form:
For people new to the pigeon hobby and showing birds, it can take a bit to understand how to best fill out the entry form. It is not that difficult but is helpful to have a little guidance for both the exhibitors that submit an entry as well as the show managers who receive and enter the data.
The image on this page provides an example on how to fill out a pigeon show entry form.
Breed is pretty straight forward but make sure you check with your club leaders/members as they can help you work through any nuances or questions you may have. In the case of the Classic Frill club there are two main parts of the breed being Satinettes and Blondinettes. For the Breed, enter both Classic Frill and either Satinette or Blondinette (as shown in the example image - rows 17-20).
Color is another item that club members can help you with. More information in the Classic Frill club website on colors can be found here >> Classic Frill Club Website - Recognized Colors & Chart
Age can at first be tricky but it is actually not too bad once it has been explained.
How to determine age? YH or Young Hen = is defined as a bird banded (e.g. 2025) the year it was hatched. YC=Young Cock with O=Old Hen or C=Cock. Old = is defined as a bird banded / raised the last year or before (e.g. 2024, 2023, 2022, etc.).
Note: If you are planning on showing your birds at the National Young Bird Show, they need to be banded the with the year of show a young birds and they need to be the right sized band for the breed. More information on band sizes and breeds is available at the National Pigeon Association website here > https://www.npausa.com/store/store_bands.html
